12 Supporting franchisees 14 Extending cancer research Attracting national attention 23 Relishing a fresh approach Cardinal workers in search of fruits, vegetable, treats and a healthy lunch didn’t have to travel far during a special UofL Day at the Gray Street Farmers Market. The monthly June-October public market is set up in front of the School of Public Health and Information Sciences, which developed the market in 2009 as an outreach partnership with the Metro Louisville Department of Health and Wellness to increase downtown access to fresh, locally grown food. Another UofL Day partner was the UofL Sustainability Council, which encouraged Belknap Campus employees and students to join a group bike ride or bus trip to the Health Sciences Center event. Visitors enjoyed music and food truck fare as well as shopping and sampling from vendors o ering jarred produce, fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods and pottery. 7
